The Ricci Institute publishes (or supports publication of) research monographs, catalogs, finding aids, translations, reproductions, and other reference works in the field of Chinese-Western cultural history and the history of Christianity in China. We work with academics, Ph.D. candidates or post-doctoral partners in China, the United States, and Europe and also sponsor, alone or with partners, scholarly conferences, symposia, and academic events in the field.
Studies in the History of Christianity in East Asia is a new series administered by the Ricci Institute in collaboration with Brill. Funded by a four-year grant from the Henry Luce Foundation., the goal is to further research on Christianity in East Asia with a particular emphasis on two different types of study: (1) independent historical narratives of Chinese, Japanese, and Korean Christian communities within their respective cultural spheres; and (2) exploration of the historical connections that bind Chinese Christian culture to that of Japan and Korea within the emerging field of global history.
