15.   Christian Sarcophagi

Two decorated Christian sarcophagi have end sections with carved crosses on cloud designs. The evidence from the iconography on these and other pieces clearly demonstrates Chinese-Buddhist acculturation unprece-dented in South-East Asia at the time.

Each piece has a flat underside and probably formed a lid to a burial vault.
